Hey all, I was wondering if anyone can help me. I'm in pre-production on a 'film within a film' project, and in one of the main scenes the film crew are making a zombie flick.
I've choreographed a huge 'splatter-fest' battle between zombies and humans, however, I've hit a wall!!
I'm looking for an effect, in short, a melting face. I've taken life casts of my friends and tried making a realistic effect with no joy. I want a rig that will melt but we'll have the ability to make the 'models' mouth open and close (as if screaming in agonising pain!).... any ideas???

Rick Baker (if i remember correctly) said once in an intervew that he used overkill during the making of "The Increible Melting Man"
Most of the effects were lost because he used too much crud over the mask and or applications.
Mask
drip drip drip
S**T!
Eventually a makeup kit came out!
Be the incredible melting man for only money.
Plastic eyeballs (the novelty store squint kind)
cotton balls
a foam rubber bald wig
and five containers of some sort of multi colored gelatinous Goo.
I wish I still had the thing.
But I had to watch as the contracters repainted the bathroom.
I was scary!
so was the fire department

BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOU PUT ON YOUR SKIN OR NEAR YOUR EYES.
READ THE CAUTIONS ON ANY PRODUCTS YOU PLAN TO USE.
OR I WILL FIND YOU
and kick your FUCKING ASS FROM HERE Till.

HI,
If you have NLE editing system you could Morph between the original face and melted face (post-production).
Jim Bird.
